There are DVI, AV and SCART three kinds of video output interfaces on old DM8000 while the new DM8000 add Separate Video and Component TV interfaces. Old DM8000 has a 256M RAM and a 32M Flash but the new DM8000′s Flash has become 128M. That will make the development of the software much easier.

DM800 doesn’t have many interfaces as DM8000 because it is smaller. DM800 has only one smartcard reader but DM8000 has two. DM8000 has two SCT tuner slot and can plug in 3 kinds of SCT tuner. However, DM800 only has one satellite tuner slot. DM800 has two USB ports, one less than DM8000. DM8000 even has three SATA ports and that makes it can be connected to SATA hard disk and DVD drivers. DM8000 doesn’t have a telephone modem any more, but telephone modem has hardly being used nowadays. If you want to buy a perfect and multi-functional satellite receiver, you should choose DM8000, not DM800. DM8000 is much better than DM800 in hardware and ability of expansion.
